Blacklion Pet Hospital - Introduction
We are one of Ireland's longest established Small Animal Veterinary Hospitals and are located in Greystones, Co. Wicklow - about 12 minutes from the M50 and 5 minutes from the N11. We are a Registered Veterinary Hospital as awarded by the Veteirnary Council of Ireland's Practice Accreditation Scheme. As of March 2009 we are the only practice in the Greystones area to have acheived this standard, the highest available - but the minimum standard we feel is acceptable for our cleints and the pets we look after.
We offer a full range of services for your pet ranging from the basics such as annual health assessment & vaccinations, neuterings, microchip identification, pet health insurance etc, right up to advanced internal imaging (we have digital x-ray facilities, one of the few in Ireland), sophisticated orthopaedic & soft tissue surgery and intensive care hospitilisation for severely ill pets.
We can also see pets as referrals or second opinions if need be but if you would like to avail of this service please consult with your own vet first. If this is not possible then we would urge you to discuss the case with one of our vets on the telephone before making an appointment.
You can find out more about who we are, what we do and why we do it by followin the links to the right.
To find out more about your pet's health please go to All About Your Pet where you will find the e-Pet Health Library, The 10 Commandments of Responsible Pet Ownership, vital resources on puppy and kitten care and much, much more.

Professional Pride
Our highly trained and committed Veterinary and Nursing staff strive to practice to the best of their abilities.
We insist on ongoing investment in Continual Professional Education to ensure this is the case and our two vets meet and surpass all the requirement for ongoing education as demanded by the Veterinary Council of Ireland for continued registration as a vet.
We cannot practice to internationally accepted standards-of-care if our facilities are not up to the required standards. To this end we are constantly upgrading our already excellently equipped hospital. Every year we re-invest an average of €20,000 in new equipment and refurbishments so to allow us to work to as high a standard as possible. Our pledge to our clients is to continue to plough as much resources as possible into our facility and thus ensuring we always have the best and most up-to-date equipment possible.

Compassionate Care
Your beloved pet is a highly valued member of the family - we know and understand that.
Our philosophy is to treat all our pet-patients as if they were our own and by doing so we will always offer you the gold-standard of care and never compromise.
There are times though that we will have to refer your pet for specialist care. To this end we maintain excellent relationships with specialist practices and will always offer referral at the earliest possible opportunity where we feel this is in the best interest of your pet.
